Mashal Afzal Memon

Short Bio

I am currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of L’Aquila in Italy. I have completed my Ph.D. in Information and Communication Technology from the same university in April 2025. My research focuses on exploring methods to extract users' ethical preferences and incorporate them into autonomous systems to ensure they are transparent, adaptable, and responsive to users' ethical considerations in their behavior.

Prior to this, in January 2020, I obtained a Master of Engineering in Computer and Information Engineering from Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Pakistan. I had previously completed my Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Systems Engineering also from Mehran University in November 2017.

Teaching Experience

As part of my current postdoctoral position, I am actively involved in supporting teaching activities at the University of L’Aquila.

Contract Lecturer

From November 2020 to November 2021, I worked as a Contract Lecturer at Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Pakistan. My responsibilities included delivering lectures, assisting students with coursework, and contributing to curriculum development.

Research Assistant

From November 2019 to November 2020, I served as a Research Assistant at Mehran University. While engaged in research activities, I was also involved in teaching undergraduate courses and assisting with academic coordination.

Teaching Assistant

From May 2018 to October 2019, I worked as a Teaching Assistant, supporting academic instruction, supervising labs, and helping students understand core technical concepts.
